Eventpro - Equestrian Event Managers
New Zealand’s leading equestrian and sports event management company, EventPro is committed to providing innovative, effective and financially sound solutions to ensure events are viable and to promote them to the wider community.
- Coordination of volunteers and developing their ownership of the Event.
- Use of an extensive variety of media networks, both locally and nationally.
- Developing a partnership between the event and its sponsors so as to achieve a “win/win” situation for both parties.
- The desire to grow and develop the Event for the benefit of all stakeholders.
EventPro’s expertise and ability has been proven by the successful development of the NZ Horse of the Year Show. In 1999, the company took over a low profile unviable event and through the above strategies, has developed this into the largest and most prestigious Equestrian Event in the Southern Hemisphere. With a 2012 budget of $2.2million and a 500% increase in participation since 1999, this show is now recognized as the largest event in Hawke’s Bay, and an important annual event on the New Zealand Sporting Calender.
Based on this successful model, EventPro is now expanding its involvement into the National Showjumping Championships and the Dunedin Equestrian Extravaganza.
HORSE OF THE YEAR 2013
The Horse of the Year Show continues to grow in prestige and stature not only within New Zealand, where it is now recognised as one of the main annual sporting events, but also on the World Equestrian Stage where it has now become one of the premier events. Although dominated by Showjumping and Dressage, the Show is now home to 17 different Equestrian Disciplines all competing on the beautiful 100 acres of the Hawke’s Bay Showgrounds. The Showgrounds are on the outskirts of Hastings City, situated on the Eastern Coast of the North Island of New Zealand.
RIDE THE RHYTHM
This was a new event in 2013 and a great success, featuring international show jumping, with a $50,000 prize pool, alongside the glitz and glamour of dressage plus the family entertainment of Mounted Games, Carriage Driving and more equestrian entertainment.
The Otago Show jumping Championships continued on the Saturday and Sunday, with the feature of Sunday being the Forsyth Barr $50,000 grand prix.
NATIONAL SHOW JUMPING CHAMPIONSHIPS
The National show jumping championship, comprising the prestigious Rutherford Cup is an important event in the equestrian calendar, held annually in Christchurch in February. EventPro's aim is to revive and grow the event to become well known on the national sporting calendar by attracting the top equestrian riders from Australasia.
