Second consecutive win in GP Amsterdam for Twomey
25-01-2010
Michael Greeve was going to win the Grand Prix of Amsterdam. The talented rider from The Netherlands, riding for former international Johan Heins, was in the lead with Ronaldo, until the 2009 winner of the Grand Prix of Amsterdam entered the anera. And it was another victory for Irish Billy Twomey riding Je t'Aime Flamenco.
Another remarkable fact was the rotation fall of Opium VS and his rider Marc Houtzager. The pair had a clear round, but fell right after the finish, because Opium made his usual bucks but lost his legs. A rotation fall left Houtzager unharmed, but Opium left the arena a bit lame.
Robert Whitaker and Udo finished third, followed by two Dutch riders: Henk van de Pol with Abeltje Z and Houtzager with Opium.
