How to register
Registering on Equine Trader is free.
There are three types of registration – Individual, Club or Association and Business.
All three listings can use the site the same way however a Club or Association gets a free webpage and a Business gets a free directory listing.
There is a simple registration form for each type of registration which you are required to fill out. Once this form is filled out.
Problems Registering
If you are having problems signing in make sure you have filled in all of the applicable spaces. If you still continue to have issues please send us an email on info@equinetrader.co.nz.
Business Registrations
Once you have registered as a business you can go to the directory and create a Web page with the ability to uplaod PDF documents. This will allow you to advertise your services on the website. You will be able to edit the listing at any time.
Clubs and Associations
This type of registration is for all riding clubs and pony clubs. Once you have registered you will be able to create and edit your Clubs Webpage including adding photo’s and supplying information about your club and people to contact.
You will also be able to upload up to 8 PDF documents keeping people updated on your Club or Association
Placing a listing in the Classifieds or Jobs Section
All registered users are able to place an item or sale or wanted in the Classifieds section or a Job Vacancy or Wanted listing in the Jobs section.
Please follow the simple steps to place a listing. For classifieds you will have the option of uploading a photo or video to the listing. See below for further instructions.
Uploading Photos to the Classifieds and Free webpage
Up Loading photos is done through the process of placing your listing in the classifieds section, or jobs section. You photos need to be smaller then 512Kb. Anything larger then this will not be accepted.
Uploading photos into the forum
To up load pictures in the forum you need to join a website that you can store your photos onto. We found that http://photobucket.com is a really great site to do that on. Its free and really easy to join. Upload your photos onto that site and each photo will be give an html code. (on Photo bucket its located just under your photo) This code is used to post pictures in blogs, forums etc. All you have to do is write in our forum what you want to say and then copy (highlight it and then right click it with your mouse) and paste that html code (that is the code to your photo on the website) into the forum posting where you have written down your posting. Place the code where you want the picture to be and then hit the "post" button. AFTER you have hit post your photo will show up. BEFORE you hit post it will not show up. Uploading Videos to our site
Place the You tube URL into the box when asked in the listing process of selling something on Equine Trader. The URL is the wording located in your browser. You copy and past that in the box and and then hit "next" to finish the listing process. Your video will then appear on your listing. For more info onYou Tube and how to use it see below:
This is done in the last step of the listing process. You need to become a member of You Tube first (Which is free to do) You will only have to join You Tube once. After you have joined you can post as many video clips as you want. Your video needs to be in a certain format and can not be longer then 10 minutes. For more information on how to post videos on You Tube click here. There is free software you can download off the internet to convert your video to the format needed to post on You Tube, and to edit your video for length, cut parts out, add some edit features, etc. We have found that Win AVI is a great software that is downloadable for free for a 30 day trial and very cheap to purchase. click here to go to their site.This softeware is great to convert your video to a format that is acceptable to You Tube. This software will convert most types of video very easily and it is simple to use.
To edit your video, to shorten it, add some features to it like music, fading, etc we suggest Video Edit Magic. it is also available for a 30 day trial perioud and also very cheap to purchase. Click here to go to their site. Its easy to use and has a lot of really useable features. There is a lot of other software out there avialable, these are just an example of what you can use. We have found them to work quite well.
Listing Policies
It is your responsibility to ensure you are legally allowed to sell any items you list. You must ensure that the item also does not breach any copyrights, trademarks, or intellectual property rights.
Sellers must ensure that their listing complies with the Equine Trader terms and conditions and that it isn’t listed on our banned or restricted items list. Please read those carefully before placing a listing. For more information on this please go to our Terms and Conditions page.
Asking the seller a question
You can ask the seller a question about the item he/she is selling by using the “Ask A Question” feature at the bottom of every listing on Equine Trader.
When a question is asked using this feature, Equine Trader will send the seller an automated email alerting him or her that a question has been asked regarding their auction.
