Griffyndor is an imported, NZ licensed, Hanoverian bred stallion. His pedigree boasts a 4th generation double cross of the famous Gottard and Wendekreis. The great Cor De Le Bryere contributes the refinement and elasticity.

Gymnastik Star
These qualities combine perfectly with the reliability and rideability of internationally respected Werther. On his dam's side, Griffyndor retains no less than six stallions that have sired at least one world champion.
  1. Genever
  2. Gottard
  3. Weidekries
  4. Ferdinand
  5. Domspatz
  6. Goetz

Griffyndor is by the most talked about sire in Australasia Gymnastik Star and out of a Graf Landau mare. His pedigree offers the ultimate in international dressage and jumping bloodlines. His premium rated, class one status sire, Gymnastik Star,

Graf Landau
is consistently producing horses that are winning national titles in both Australia and NZ, and his oldest progeny are only 8yr olds (eg Gymstar One, Kinnordy Gym, UQ Gladiator, Remi Giselle etc etc).
Griffyndor's dam sire Graf Landau has been the third ranking show jumping sire in Australia and has also produced many national title holders across the disciplines. International event rider William Fox-Pitt has debuted his Graf Landau gelding "Walk the Line" in Europe with two wins from two events, and the horse joined Mark Todd's team in 2009.

Calypso II
Griffyndor is ridden by Tina Field. They have been a partnership for the last three seasons and have been consistently achieving scores over 70% in dressage at elementary level. Griffyndor was placed third in the Spring Leader Board behind two advanced horses when he returned to stud last November. He is currently training at medium to advanced level. He is establishing flying changes, half pass, and pirouettes in walk and canter. At home on the farm with Tina, Griffyndor is given no special priviledges. He schools in the field dodging sheep, he musters cattle, and he jumps fences (because Tina can't be bothered to open gates!). Griffyndor shows an amazing aptitude over his fences. He has incredible technique and is bold to a fault.
Griffyndor's oldest progeny are rising four. Many were broken in as 3yr olds and the trainers all reported sensible youngsters with great brains, and heaps of personality. We are hoping to see a couple competing under saddle this season. In hand, Griffyndor's progeny have never come home with less than a reserve champion. Notably, a 2 yr old daughter won the title of Supreme Champion Warmblood exhibit at the Grand National Show, from a class of over 30 horses.
Griffyndor is consistently stamping his progeny with three qualities
  1. An outstanding work ethic and temprement
  2. Beautiful rhythm in all pases
  3. A huge ground eating walk that judges just can't tear their eyes away from.
His foals are all upstanding individuals with great toplines and outgoing natures. He is crossing well with a variety of mare types. He is adding quality to crossbreds and substance to TB,s. He is improving on, and modernizing our NZ warmblood mares.
